Doug Marsh Radio News Story

We've had college students in our home for dinner every week during the school year for the past seven years.  Even when my husband was starting to decline, we continued having students each week.  One of my students named David Goerner was a communications major and did a news story on our family.  This five-minute story that was recorded almost 5 years ago gives a real glimpse into our lives as we cared for a loved-one with dementia.  I hope it will be a blessing to you.

If Only

If only. As harmless as those words may seem, they can actually be toxic and can feed unbelief if we're not careful. "If only this or that hadn't happened...", "if only my circumstances would change...", "If only things were different..." Those are just a few examples of thoughts that often run through my mind. But if I am constantly dwelling on the "if onlys", am I really trusting God? The fact is, what has happened, has happened. There is absolutely nothing I can do to change that. But there is an overlying truth as well - God was and is over it all. The Sovereign One Who holds the world in the palm of His hand holds us as well and is in control of every detail of our lives. And on top of that, He is able to cause all things to work for our good and His glory. That includes all of our "if onlys". May we honor God today with our lives by trusting Him, not only with our past, but with the present and the future as well.
